I don't think it was that bad to read, I've certainly read worse. Not entirely sure what quality of writing you're expecting from a team who are translating things for the pure love of the source material. I think what we got from the anime was better and more funny than the light novel though. Poil posted:Is ten episodes going to become the new standard? No? It just happens sometimes when plans change. They expected this series to be a 1-cour and getting a second season meant they had no need for final two episodes, and moved into production for S2 instead, meaning first season was left at 10 due to time constraints. If you think that's so bad, once upon a time we were used to 26 episode animes.

The figurine world space is such an oddity. We'll never get a Kazuma figure, even though he's a character with personality rather than just an audience stand-in, Overlord got Ainz made and No Game No Life had essentially only Shiro figurines, ignoring her co-dependency on her brother. At least nendoroids got that right.

While Nichijou is one of my favorite comedies, I do recall it having a lot of humor moments that just fall flat, particularly in the Helvetica Standard shorts, where every punch line needed an asterisk explaining the joke. Didn't Next perfectly finish off the light novels? I bought like 8 volumes but aside from the elder gods interacting with the author, I don't recall much being missed in conversion.
