Finally got around to watching Isekai Quartet. It was cute. Looking forward to the next season. Ains getting along with everyone was pretty  , but I expected Tanya to flip out on Aqua waaaaay earlier.

Irony Be My Shield posted:Recasts will obviously happen when necessary but there does seem to be a strong preference to keeping Japanese VAs the same wherever possible - see Goku who's still played by Masako Nozawa at age 87, or Kiyoshi Kobayashi playing Daisuke Jigen for 52 years and only being recast in 2021 when he was 88. Then you get the masterstroke of Igor in Persona 5 after Isamu Tanonaka's passing. As for Konosuba, I just caught the first episode of the season. I haven't read the manga, so I was kind of surprised how much it focused on the aftermath of Kazuma's deal with Sylvia. (Read: It lingered on it at all.) they want shady posted:Like, it's genuinely impressive to me how good they are at extended jokes where you can see the punchline coming from a mile away but you're still laughing at how hard they commit to the setup (little girl from Aqua's cult and wounded flower girl from last ep, for example). The cult girl is my favorite gag of the show and one of my favorite comedy gags of any medium. The timing. The direction. The music. The delivery. The reaction. Masterful loving work.
