This is especially true in some of the more entrenched markets outside the US. Yep. Even in my small city in the southern hemisphere taxi companies brought in an SMS text messaging warning which tells you when they are about a 1/2 mile from picking you up so you don't have to wait outside wondering (one of the best things about uber)
