I've always wanted to get into Hitman, so I finally grabbed Blood Money. Holy gently caress, is this hard. Spent two hours on the first level (A Vintage Year) and still don't really have a solid plan to make the hits. I have managed a fairly reliable ingress (immediately head around the back of the compound, take out the one guard, wear his clothes down to the docks, distract the chemist to the side so I can take his outfit, head up the elevator) but then after that, even if I manage to get a VIP guard's outfit (which I'm only about 30% successful in doing), I still am mostly locked out of the top levels of the mansion. I did notice the setpiece for killing the son (pulley holding up a set of barrels) but I'm not sure how I'm meant to be in the area to see where he's standing, and pull it off while not getting found out. The idea that it's possible to get a Silent Assassin rating on this level is already confounding me. It's great. I'm not sure I want any help (try and stay spoiler-free if you do reply) but I'm already in love with this poo poo.

I kept trying to take one from the VIP guard by the seaplane but there are too many people heading in and out of there and no good place to dump the body. I thought I should be able to push corpses into the water, maybe I just wasn't lined up properly.

Apparently finishing the first mission took me five real-time hours. Not perfect, but I'm so insanely proud of this. Lost 5k because I didn't go back and grab my suit, but I gotta think about how that's going to work NO ONE SAY ANYTHING

Is there a place to find good, unique, interesting runs of missions? I want to see how other people did World of Tomorrow, but all youtube shows me is SA/No Suit/360 No scope tedium.

I'm less interested in watching a perfectly clean, well-rehearsed professional takedown than crazy, arbitrary attempts that show off the player's ability to improvise and react to situations gone wrong.

I'm curious why a stealth game provides so many loud, conspicuous weapons as rewards. All of these pistols and automatics look great but is there a real purpose for them? Or are they just for goofing around?

I really don't like Colorado. It's very clearly designed to make the average player rethink their approach: 100% hostile, wide, flat level with little cover and few places to toss bodies. I spent three hours in one go working through it, got to mastery level 9, and now I think I'll just move on to Hokkaido. I feel no desire to try and master it.

Apropos of nothing, I was incredibly disappointed to find I couldn't take Jordan Cross' USB drive and plug it into the recording studio's sound system so everyone could hear it.

Bangkok bothers me because of the layout of the hotel. The adjoining roof feels like it could be so much better designed/accessible. As it is, 90% of the time I'm running up one tower, then down, then across, then up, over and over again.

I just went through the whole thread and realized that since I just got started playing and never did any ETs, I'll never get any of the cool suit unlocks. I'm sad.

Well, just started taking the professional mode for Paris. Jesus. I don't know if I can manage any of this. Too many camera, none of the items are where I expect them... gently caress. Let's dig in, I guess.

I've gotten the bartender start so it's even faster, but yeah. When I realized I could knock out the system with a silenced pistol shot I was ecstatic.

What about if I arouse suspicion, or have to be escorted out of an area? I'm sure these aren't "stealthy" runs but it's not clear to me what counts in terms of the achievement.

I loving tried for three or four hours and I couldn't make any headway. I must be the world's biggest idiot. I knew that the French guy wanted to find a fortune teller, so I took over the fortune teller, and I brought him in, turned up the fog machine and killed him and got documents. I also got the walkie-talkie from Kong's bodyguard. And I managed to get into the party, and I took out Kong, but he didn't have anything. So I was basically at a loss. Guess I'll read through the thread and see what I was supposed to do. I never even saw Giggles.

And when I started the mission, I got the same spiel every time about looking for a heightened security presence and all that.

I have to say; I hate Colorado, but it's impeccably well designed. It perfectly takes all the lessons you've been learning so far and turns them all upside-down. All uniforms look very much the same so it's hard to tell them apart, and no one outfit gets you everywhere. There are little wind sounds that imitate the NPC attention warning. It's a huge open space, patrols take forever, there's less places to stash people, and quest items are scattered all over, making it hard to accomplish everything successfully. Incredibly well designed.

It looks like you get special items from escalations sometimes. I thought that just getting 20/20 on normal difficulty in each level would give you everything. What are the best escalations to play to get the best items?

I’m starting to really appreciate Hokkaido. There’s all kinds of subtle things that adds to its complexity. The security system built into outfits that requires you to pay close attention to the symbols by each door, the samey-ness of corridors and areas to make it easier to lose your way, the positioning of witnesses down long hallways. I like it.

And I just SASO’d it. That was really fast compared to getting the timing and everything right for my Sapienza attempt. But yay! Only Marrakesh, Colorado, and Bangkok to go for SASOs.

Should I just rush through each level with opportunities on to grab as much XP and learn as much as I can before going in with more refined approaches? Or should I keep all of that poo poo off and force myself to make it through trial and error and actually listening to people and observing things. I also want to just get through as quickly as possible so I can watch all the cinematics so they don't get spoiled for me.
