Our lathes tend to be pretty chill. The last lathe related injury involved a rather large chuck key that went for a ride. We have a variety of very large grinders that can produce some wicked wounds. The wheels are 24 inch diameter and when they contact flesh they simply erase it. They are covered in steel guards, shrouds, and everything else imaginable to prevent grinding wheel on skin contact. We had one guy adjusting the guarding with the wheels running (big no-no), wrench slipped, and a 1 inch chunk of flesh just evaporated.

Am I missing something with that truck? I've never once expected my truck to survive a bowling ball impact on the side or rear window.
