It's not really that. Republicans have a well oiled and established echo chamber that amplifies the smallest thing into a deafening foghorn. It gets them nowhere except with their base but that's really all they care about. It even goes on after it should have died down, see Obama's birth cert, Benghazi, the emails, a billion other things that haven't produced anything of note past the initial accusation, even through the savage beatdowns they got after those they still, somehow, came out on top in the eyes of their base. There is not nearly as much fire and brimstone in the Dem spin machine as there is powering the giant coal rolling hate truck that is republican rhetoric.
