Oh jeez it's already been ten months since the last one. Finding answers 5-30 seconds after it's been called in is more fun than it should be.

What's the on-the-ground situation currently? Very (very) lightly toying with the idea.

I have a big two room suite booked in Point that I'm not too keen on paying for by myself. If anyone plans on coming, you can PM me or message me on IRC.

This comes up a few times in the thread each year, but join us if you don't think you'll be very useful. I guess I could also add join us even if you can only play for a couple of hours. We've had high-scoring questions answered by people who just hopped on for a couple of hours, and you never know what sort of useless information would get an answer right. There's always #tpmusic if you just want to hang out and listen to music all weekend (and answer the music snippet questions).

By the way, we got a 200 pt. question last year because I got bored at the grocery store at 12am one day and took pictures of cereal boxes. Every little effort can be a big difference maker, no matter how stupid it may sound.

No, I am not turning into Network, why do you ask?

I would love to see a few more people for this contest. Maybe we can make it interesting for Festivus!

((Note: Festivus and Dad's Computers are basically the two top trivia teams right now. Someone from one of those teams actually told one of our ground crew goons that they expect us to be at their level soonish))

Yeah. They basically said that the difference between us and them is that they have a ton of notes and whatnot.

Also Spretznaz told me he will be making it to Point, so goon HQ will be back in its full glory! Of course there's still room for one or two more people, so anyone wanting to come up to join Ground Crew is more than welcome.

If enough people are in the area, I might think about a goon discount at a local McDs.

Oz hates the internet, which should be motivation enough for anyone to join what's clearly the most Internet team. He's not quite sure what to think of us, but I get the impression that he likes us for at the very least shaking things up and having a quite obviously great time.

As the team's self appointed official PR liaison, I am going to try and get us another Trivia Focus.

Oz knows the contest today is much different from the pre-internet years and probably wishes it could be like the old days. In that sense, we're probably a reminder that those days are dead. However, I get the sense that he appreciates the fact that a new team has enthusiastically embraced his baby and brought some new life to something that was starting to become a bit of an ol boys club.

Plus after all our secrecy on it, it was only worth 110 points or something.

Also, I think that we should have a password (+k) on #tp to at least give us that little bit of protection from randoms joining. We don't have to necessarily hide the password. Just put spoiler tags or something on it and leave it at that.

I have some other suggestions for us too, but I'll bring those up in IRC this week.

Possibly have the password in a protected forum a la PGS or SA Mart.
