Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors is the best Radiohead song.

What do you guys think Johnny Greenwood is doing right now? I bet he's playing Dark Souls.

Spectre feels and sounds exactly like what i would imagine a classic slow burning moody radiohead number done as a schmaltzy bond theme would sound like. It's a neat and gorgeous song.

Anaranjado posted:Let's rank some albums guys!! I made a radiohead cd-r mix when I was a teenager. It was undoubtedly the Best Radiohead Album. edit: it included We Suck Young Blood. Maybe it doesn't belong on HTTT but it's such a wicked song. Them handclaps.

The strings are fantastic especially around the two minute mark. Chills.

The song is starting to remind me of Airbag. Notice the funky drumbeat that does the mix-up/start stop thing in the middle, the bass cameo after "abandon all reason". In sort of a surprising move, Radiohead have been confirmed for ACL. http://music.blog.austin360.com/2016/05/05/radiohead-mumford-sons-lcd-soundsystem-kendrick-lamar-to-headline-acl-fest/

I too traded Burn the Witch with Ful Stop and so far it has made for a more sensible and enjoyable listening experience. I am one of those fools who has to go through the stages of grief after each new radiohead album turns out not to be Kid A. "This song sounds like Optimistic, but on 20mg of adderall, and the rhythm section doesn't go crazy at the end." I've taken turns being underwhelmed, pleasantly awed, disappointed and impressed by this album and I can say only two things for sure. That this is an album that demands my full attention, and that I intend to give it atleast that much. It is right off the bat more interesting that KoL, but in some ways just as dense.

Listening to tkol after moon shaped pool takes the edge off the skitchiness of that album. As if the perspective gives it some context. Trip report: the new album is still good.

ZoDiAC_ posted:Yeah that five year gap really takes the edge off. Shame there's only the Radioheads doing musics. When the new album came out I listened to nothing but Radiohead for a week. The new stuff informed how I felt about the old stuff and vice versa.

What did you guys think of Radiohead's latest album, The Billabong? I think it's a better title than Hail to the Thief, personally.

Should we expect rich, famous, possibly drug-addled, developmentally arrested rock stars to be paragons of virtue and champions of social and political justice? Yes.

Mr. Mountain Goat is right in that the sequencing of those two albums is especially important and it is part of the reason i love pulk/pull so much. It also encapsulates so well that surreal techno-horror vibe that the band was going for in that era.
