It looks like a Coldplay album cover, if Coldplay wasn't a bunch of wussies.

I can't believe no one has mentioned that Radiohead's pre-In Rainbows catalogue has been bought by XL Recordings.

Ballz posted:I don't quite get the implication. New reissues of the early albums on a different record label? Well, if you go on streaming services, you'll note that they've all taken down the 2009 Collector's Edition versions of the first six albums. The B-Sides are apparently going to be issued in a new way eventually.

The thing about Treefingers is, for me, that it's just there. It's not outstanding, which can be said for most of Kid A, but it's not a BAD song. It's just a chill segue between HTDC and Optimistic. Hunting Bears is better, but then again it wouldn't fit with Kid A.

After careful thought, I'm handicapping Pitchfork's rating at 8.9. Low, I know, but it's still going to be BNM.

Here's a fun exercise - go to your digital music organizer and list your ten most played Radiohead songs. It's like ranking your favorites, only not because sometimes you rely on computer-generated mixes that pick popular favorites. This is the case for me, as I use Genius Mixes in iTunes, and, well... 1. Karma Police 2. Bodysnatchers 3. Pyramid Song 4. Creep 5. Jigsaw Falling Into Place 6. Paranoid Android 7. Knives Out 8. (tie) High and Dry/Reckoner 10. (tie) There There (The Boney King of Nowhere)/Myxomatosis (Judge, Jury & Executioner)/House of Cards

Steve2911 posted:My top 10 on iTunes is just Amnesiac. (Not just Radiohead, in general). Do you have to manually manage songs when you sync a device? Because that's what lead to my iTunes saying I've listened to Remain in Light a good 23 times in a week's time.

The REAL Goobusters posted:I saw Radiohead last year at ACL and I had a loving great time. Granted I got to the festival a bit late so I only saw 2 bands (Flying Lotus right before Radiohead on the same stage) and its also a smaller festival. I still had a great time. I enjoyed Flying Lotus remarking about all the white people who came out to see Radiohead and had no idea who he was.

Volte posted:I doubt they have many fully finished outtakes like I Promise but given how experimental the time was they probably have a lot of prototype stuff that would be interesting in the same way as the OK Computer cassette and minidiscs. I seem to remember Nigel saying around the OKNOTOK period they were lacking on unreleased stuff for OK Computer because they reused tapes and were generally stingy with storing unused things, but that they had a ton of stuff from Kid A and Amnesiac for when the time rolls around for that. Since they were both taken from the same sessions it would be hard to do a proper archival release for Kid A without also combining it with Amnesiac, since technically any unreleased material from one is also unreleased material from the other.
