The clothespin thing was very well done. It brought home how hosed up that guy is in the head, while leaving all the details to the viewer's own imagination. I hope they never mention it again.

Also, I'm still kinda struggling with the whole premise of the show. Maybe it's because I'm not American, but I just don't understand why preventing the JFK assassination is supposed to be such a big deal. Why would you assume that it would make the world better? Why would you spend years of your life on this? This obsession seems to come out of nowhere.

I guess it would be kinda interesting to see how it changes the flow of history, but I wouldn't waste years of my life.

Comparing JFK's assassination to a boomer 9/11 kinda works for me. Cause I would totally spent a couple years in the 90's, to prevent 9/11. Life was nice back then, almost idyllic. I would go to a Nirvana concert, get a cheap college education and smoke inside buildings all the time. The life of kings.

Yea he's got plenty of money from making bets right? Couldn't he have just gotten in a cab and had it drive him right up to her door instead of having to run from a bus stop?

What's up with the huge cut on Sadie's face in this episode, did she fall down or something? I tried to google for an answer, but nothing came up. Anyway, great episode.

I think its somehow a joke about my question being dumb and having an obvious answer, but I really can't figure out what that answer would be. Seriously, why did he have to sprint all the way to her house, presumably from the bus stop?

Wait, I thought you were making fun of that bus stop guy? Are you seriously asking, if Jake ran to the nearest bus stop, then spend an hour waiting for the bus, spend an hour on the bus and then got out and ran the last few meter like a mad man to Sadie's house?

After losing his teaching job and Sadie, Jake decided to abandon his life in Jodie. He got the phone call just as he was moving out of the house. Presumably, Sadie's house is somewhere down the street from him. I don't think there were buses in Texan small towns in the 60's.

Except for Miss Mimi, who has visited him there while Jake n Billy were in the middle of Oswald planning, and requiring Jake to kick Billy to one of the side rooms. Plus they've already moved places in Dallas, so excuse people for being confused about exactly what spot Jake is currently chilling at at any given moment.

You thought that Jake took a bus to Sadie's house and that they just cut out the bus riding scene for dramatic effect. Don't try to weasel your way out of this, stand by your horrible, horrible TV watching skills. :colbert:

The fact that she apparently walked to his house suggests that maybe they did live close enough that he'd just run, but it's hardly been established conclusively and the running scene did seem weird.

It was conclusively established in the scene where he ran to her house, instead of taking the car.

Meh, mediocre.

I really don't give a poo poo about the Kennedy storyline anymore. We haven't seen Kennedy since the pilot and all that stuff with Lee and the Russian expat amounted to absolutely nothing. Nothing happened, certainly nothing of interest.

The falling out with Bill is complete nonsensical.

Sadie is the only part of the show that I really care about a little bit and it's absolutely not enough to carry the whole show.

Lee was great, the whole show should have been about him visiting various government agencies and complain about mass surveillance and capitalism. he could have visited the ATF, CIA, NSA, ATF, IRS, DMV, the Secret Service or maybe even the FDA.

Lee is a cool guy he's actually very misunderstood by history.

Holy poo poo, he was such a dweeb in real life, the actor nailed it:

quote:

Almost immediately after arriving, Oswald told his Intourist guide of his desire to become a Soviet citizen. When asked why by the various Soviet officials he encountered—all of whom, by Oswald's account, found his wish incomprehensible—he said that he was a communist, and gave what he described in his diary as "vauge [sic] answers about 'Great Soviet Union'".[56] On October 21, the day his visa was due to expire, he was told that his citizenship application had been refused, and that he had to leave the Soviet Union that evening. Distraught, Oswald inflicted a minor but bloody wound to his left wrist in his hotel room bathtub soon before his Intourist guide was due to arrive to escort him from the country, according to his diary because he wished to kill himself in a way that would shock her.[56] Delaying Oswald's departure because of his self-inflicted injury, the Soviets kept him in a Moscow hospital under psychiatric observation until October 28, 1959.

Someone trying to get into the Soviet Union, instead out of it? They must have thought that he is mentally retarded or something. :allears:

What's the deal with the time travelling hobo and why does he have a yellow card in his hat?

I get that he is a time traveller and obsessed with saving someone, but this doesn't answer anything, it just brings up more questions.
