Loved the pilot and I'm also one of those people that just can't get into King's novels. Why isn't Hulu releasing all the episodes all at once like Netflix?

Did I miss anything with regard to how going back through the portal to present day works? Does he just go back to the spot where the closet is (or will be) in the diner and *poof* he vanishes in front of anyone standing around? I couldn't tell how much the terrain and buildings had changed over the years.

Does the book ever answer questions about the portal (or has the show answered these and I missed them) like can more than one person go through and If so, what happens if one person stays and the other returns to present? Where did it come from?
