goddamn I have seen that video way too loving many times. Every loving day of airborne school, at least twice a day. Every. loving. Day. You watch it. You watch it until when you watch it, it's the video that's watching you. gently caress that video.

e: looking at the comments, how the gently caress do those people remember what airborne class they were in? Was it seriously that loving incredible for them that they can remember that bullshit? If so, wow, that is the saddest, most pathetic thing.

I was somewhat surprised and terrified the first time I worked on a crane. We were attaching the jib (basically a lattice boom extension on the end of a telescoping boom to give it some extra reach). Turns out the entire thing is attached by 4 pins about the size and shape of an ice cream cone, which you can relatively easily remove with a one-hand sledgehammer as long as everything is adjusted to line up right. Attaching and detaching the jib involves only having two pins attaching it to one side of the boom, so you can tie a rope to it and swing it around by hand on the pins like a giant hinge.

Waffle cone or sugar cone?

Anyway, how big is the guide wire on those rounds? It ought to be getting hung up on something along the way right?

Tiny copper filament. It can snap and the missile will go crazy, but it usually has to snag on something for that to happen. They might even be using the wireless variants, much like our neighbors to the north.
