Watching poo poo burn in on heavy drops is one of the very few good things about being on jump status. 'welp, don't have to pull maintenance on that SEE anymore!' as the little mercedes piece of poo poo blasted its way into the dz... Seeing a 5ton burn in was kinda awe inspiring though god bless those troops, finding joy where they can

When it came out there were some rich guys who were suddenly producing all sorts of bad rear end cinema quality vids of their weekends at the range.

The quad 50 on the duece & a half was insane. Of course if the M134 wasn't a giant piece of poo poo back then, you know they'd have mounted a bunch of those on trucks too. Now that Dillon has unfucked the design and made it into the Mk44 you get this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3jAh5eGxjc and if 7.62 isn't good enough, well, there's the GAU-19 now, for .50cal hatred https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1VMHQzwDwc

not caring here posted:Huh, never saw one in the wild when I was in. There's parallax but that's typical. Honestly I don't recommend an Eotech for anyone after all the battery contact issues, battery leaking issues on the XPS models and then the thermal drift. If you aren't paying for it and it's issued, you can use a standard Aimpoint magnifier and QD twist or the pictured Samson FTS mount for longer range shooting, but it's never going to be a sniper rifle optic (nor is that its purpose)

The nature of the holographic reticle is that it's always going to be fuzzy, especially if you have an astigmatism. The "donut of death" is super fast for getting on target in a high stress situation, but they simply aren't as rugged as the aimpoints. Trijicon has been trying to go after Aimpoint's market share for a while and failing miserably with each iteration (TriPower, SRS, MRO). They just revealed a new MG reflex sight that's similar to the eotech - http://soldiersystems.net/2016/10/03/ausa-trijicon-machine-gun-reflex-sight/ so who knows how well it will work. Basically though, when Aimpoint releases the AA powered Micro that is in quiet use in various .gov agencies, it's going to own. If Aimpoint could ever figure out a large retical, it'll be amazing.

Godholio posted:I bought one around 2007-ish, and I still haven't replaced the batteries. I also don't leave it turned on like a moron. Check your serial number - EOTech lied to the government about specs and you may be entitled to a full MSRP refund or if you choose a brand new model.

Duke Chin posted:Huh, Snake Eyes appears to be having a bad day This is from H&K's 'over the beach' tests when they were building the 416 rifle. The one pictured is a Colt M4 I believe. Basically the water trapped in the barrel doesn't compress soooooo kabloom, catastrophic failure, with the receiver exploding, losing the forward assist and magazine ejection. External safety was part of the requirement. The pistol also had to be "caliber agnostic" & ambidextrous, capable of fitting everyone's hands, have compact & full size models, etc etc etc. Also in the Delta pic above you can see a couple of S&S precision products on handlebar mustache guy, the frag pouch behind his glock just got released / announced to vendors a week ago - https://www.sandsprecision.com/frag-grenade-trigger-pouch.html It looks like his pistol is set up with a mini red dot sight, going by the holster
