first single from next WHY? album came out today and is cute and good http://www.stereogum.com/1916602/why-this-ole-king/premiere/ if you've never heard WHY? and are wondering why you should care they are like indie pop with hip hop sensibilities dealing with some heavy topics. What's that you want more weird indie pop hip hop mixes okay how about Gregory Pepper, who is a weirdo and makes all sorts of music through various projects. But the one I mean is called Common Grackle where he works with Factor, who is a great producer and makes the music sound like it's a full band playing in the background but it's not it's just him and that's crazy. Also the band is named Common Grackle because, The Lone Pine Field Guide to Birds describes the Common Grackle as a "poor but spirited singer who, despite his lack of musical talent, remains smug and proud, posing with his bill held high" They put out a great album called The Great Depression and because Gregory Pepper is a weirdo a couple years later he released a follow up which is the whole album again but in a Western swing style called the Great Repression anyways here ya go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQfviud1GYk |
