While we're doing the agility chat, besides boosting "ease of evasion" the game also mentions "and other actions". This is simultaneously both kinda vague and accurate, since the "other actions" include using pretty much any (non-weapon) item, if I'm not mistaken. In short, higher agility means quicker estus sips. Also, remember to exhaust npc dialogue and chat with them every now and then. Many of them gift you useful stuff depending on what you've done. Or they might do... other actions.

I think that the Shaded Woods are meant to be a mid-game area from memory. The ghosts in particular are a lot less awful when you can kill them in 2-4 hits instead of 10-12. Admittedly my build was power-stanced great-swords so I did an assload of damage when I swung and had a wide enough angle to catch them easily. I cannot recall if the Shrine of Winter is ever explained but if you think to the first game what's going on is a bit less obtuse. I think there should be a fragrant branch of yore on a merchant you can buy. There is also one other path available to you, although you need to buy a ring from the cat to reach it.

horse, beware of message. I like Vengarl's hat. There's a certain piece of equipment. I don't remember where you get it, and it's not particularly useful in general. But it looks amazing when combined with Vengarl's hat. The combination may click instantly when you see it. It can help to advance gradually and really stare into the fog to spot all the ghosts guarding the woods porn or whatever is in those chests, but that's slow.

Though there are items that will let you reallocate stat points you may want to be more wary of just dumping them into whatever, as certain stats like VIT are this game's version of resistance and are almost trap stats thanks to how the numbers work and the inclusion of certain items. In a similar dick move the developers have also included certain armor sets early on, as new player traps, and you may want to examine what you wear accordingly.

So the petrified dragon bone is an upgrade material, specifically for Boss weapons. To talk to the friend with claws you need the ring of whispers, although it isn't particularly important. Mainly he's an additional summon sign for the boss that is right in front of the fog gate, he also gives some interesting lore. The Krogans are lion people by the way. If you are having trouble with or are getting frustrated by your endurance running out you should really consider leveling it. Also, keep in mind that the protection any armor offers is balanced against the cost of higher equip load and all that entails.

Might I suggest taking a closer look at the stats on rings? Alternative ep20 title: The Return of Depth Perception Why are those alcoves there? Well, "it's a collapsed dwarven thing town" certainly justifies it. The place being named Doors of Pharros lends some credence to that. But I don't think that's what you're asking. The question you are asking, you are only asking because you already had the answer in the first place: "So you'll run in and die."

Trying a despawn a drat little rat Bosses take less damage when you have a co-op summon with you. Your faith and int are both so low that the ooze and resin barely help you, I guess. Also miraculously you managed to spend two of your four lockstones on actually useful contraptions, there's not too many of those in Doors of Pharros. The messages near them should be useful if you want to "spoil" yourself. DrTempest posted:So, I'm kinda confused on how we went, you know, up a hill and into a desert. So the spiders are indeed afraid of fire, and that chest trap is actually kind of funny if you already have a torch lit. Basically the red orb alerts/aggros all the spiders hiding in caves that you can't see. So as you got they all crawl out the walls and fall from the ceiling and theoretically kill you horribly, if you have a torch lit they crawl out and then start running into the walls away from your torch. There's a hidden passage in the room just before the Prowling Magus fight, who by the way is possibly the easiest boss in the game.

I applaud you guys for your tenacity, but have you maybe considered exploring down a different major branch if things get to be too much of a wall here? Off the top of my head your options are: going further down that tunnel in Majula with the rotating mechanism, somehow unlocking the alternate path in that tunnel, or going down the big Majula well. That said, I think you guys can complete this area if you git gud enough. Tarezax fucked around with this message at 04:48 on Apr 10, 2016 |

I was honestly pretty amazed you didn't realize that since you can cheese the first peasant by letting the rock fall on top of him, you could also do the same kinda thing with the other rock. You still take damage while in the backstab/riposte animation but I think it's only like around 30% or something. Reduced nonetheless. Tarezax posted:Off the top of my head your options are: going further down that tunnel in Majula with the rotating mechanism, somehow unlocking the alternate path in that tunnel, or going down the big Majula well. So the Dragonrider is kind of easy because he's potentially the first boss in the game. Also the Dragon he rode in on is probably the one that you saw on the other path, which you really should finish. Also should I share the very stupid thing the game did with npc quests or do you want to discover that particular mechanic alone? No Man's Wharf in general is kind of great, especially if you have a great-sword, as a bunch of enemies can be sent flying off the wharf or if they're holding on to sneak up behind knocked down with a slamming attack.

Remember, in Dark Souls, "close" is not merely "a reasonable striking distance." "Close" is "armor-inspecting face-on-enemy-grundle-rubbing this-Taurus-Demon-is-not-anatomically-correct touching-the-enemy's-buttcheeks-despite-being-in-front-of-them" distance. Also Dark Souls does not take place on a planet with seas of alcohol you can stop jumping in.

I think you were one Talk away from exhausting Licia's dialogue, and that would have actually happened to be pretty useful! And speaking of which, a reminder that NPCs may get new stuff to say (or give or do) after certain points in the story or after you've done something else related to them. The crestfallen warrior for example has something that triggers after x number of deaths which I'm sure you've hit ages ago. Like Nietzschean showed with the old knights, rolling toward the enemy to get behind them and their attacks is pretty important, since rolling backwards when fighting against an enemy with long reach (or sideways when their reach is wide) usually just means you're going to get killed. I said before to do it when the enemy is lunging at you but in reality it actually works like most of the time anyway. If I recall correctly you can more or less avoid Pursuer's every attack just by dodging at his sword.

The results, they are what you'd expect. As for the discrepancy between the two summons, I thiiiink you have both white soapstones you can compare? The big lantern, it does indeed do something (in addition to general visibility, I mean), and that something is directly related to the BEES situation.

Cahrillion of the Fold is just being a jerk, he's thinks you're dumb and so won't talk to you about sorcery. At least I think that's what's going on with him. You really should go beat that dragon by the way, he's not that hard to be honest. At least if you know what you're doing in regards to dragon fighting. I think he's roughly as hard as the Dragonrider from memory.

The dragon is piss-easy, the jerks beforehand are far more of a problem. Funnily enough, you weren't even that wrong with the Legend of Zelda solution for No Man's Wharf: you have to ring a bell, which happens if you pull the lever that was mentioned. You can clearly see it in the video, it's well-lit. But you can absolutely just shoot the bell from somewhere else and get the same result!

The Grand Lance is loving amazing, by the way; it used to be found (in vanilla DS2) at the very end of the game, now you can have an insanely high damage, actually rather easy to wield, sick counterdamage (aka attack when they attack you) weapon right at the start. You can murder PvP opponents with its absurd tracking, too.
