Oh man. So, a few things. First, this might be a bit of an obvious suggestion, but since the bandit starts with rather high faith (and since healing items are scarce), you should probably consider miracles. Second, you missed something exceedingly important in Majula. Warp back there and search extensively near the bonfire. Third, and most important, buy the Falconer Helm. It's really the best.
