No article ever loving mentions this, but a ridiculous portion of Louisiana's operating budget is set in our Constitution, which has been amended more than any state constitution. Healthcare, higher education, and a few other areas that unsurprisingly include indigent defense are basically all the governor can propose cuts from. I think we have one of those garbage Taxpayers' Bill of Rights amendments too. This state has been thoroughly dirt hosed by Republican administration.

This isn't a filibuster guys. It's the majority party using their control of the committees and floor to just ignore the President's nomination. Also, there isn't anything the Democrats can do now. I supposed they could change their rules foe nominees when the next Congress begins but I think that takes more than a simple majority.
