 Living in a totally outrageous housing market makes things like this sting a lot. $350k here in Austin will get you an older home outside of the city needing repairs, on a small plot of land. It can get you a lot or a home needing to be torn down near the city. For reference, the house we're renting now is a total POS ("charming") 900 sqft 2 bed and it's worth about $420k. I too will live vicariously through this thread and look forward to what you build!
