Once again our glorious country (Slovak Republic) voted its representatives. This time everyone was hoping to break the rule of our largest party (Smer - "left" socialists) because of their corrupted practice and all that usual poo poo what you get with one or two party system. The main issue here is that the center to right wing parties are fractured after attempts to interbreed catholics with liberals and hardcore capitalists with center-right socialists. If you know the background (well if you are the one of the 10 Slovak people on SA) you will laugh your rear end off, get drunk and emigrate as fast as loving possible. Since WW2 nazi fail in Slovakia, we never had ultranationalists in our parliament, till now. Thanks to consistent fails of liberals and center-rightwing, we now have a fully legit nazi party. No no these are not just some grammar nazis from some lovely forum. These fuckers are serious with uniforms, creepy signs and old WW2 nazi flags (Slovakia shamefully collaborated with Hitler after our "friends" ignored the calls for help). If you are really into this kind of thing, here is my personal short description of the parliamentary parities that will rule for next 4 years. Smer - lovely corrupted "socialist" left party with lot of corruption scandals and a giant EU dick in their mouth, they are dominating the parliament for the last 8 years thanks to the awesome discipline of their senior (and senile) voters. Anti-refugee and pro EU SaS - center-right wing liberals with agendas like gay rights, legalization of marijuana, progressive taxation, unfortunately they lied few years ago and they led the former right wing coalition to its doom along with others that won't be there (gently caress em). Pro EU and refugees OĽANO - another lovely party glued together from various politically correct hippies most recognizable for their leader Igor Matovič who is a complete nutjob and a populist. (also a hypocrite). Pro EU and refugees SNS - the "one and only beloved party" that survived since 19th century. Some idiots were removed with a new leader trying to fix all the terrible things they did, conservative non-extreme nationalist right wing. Anti EU and anti refugees ĽS-NS - extreme right wing neo-nazis being all about Slovak State (when we existed as nazi Germany satellite), sadly most of the voters were in the group under 30 years of age and confirming that millenials are dumb as a loving brick. Anti-everything except white people, God and gas chambers. SME Rodina - a mainly joke party created by a rich oval office Boris Kollár who doesn't want to be in a coalition and play with other guys and gals. Rodina means family and with his 8-9 children with 8-9 different women it is a really bad pun. Voters mostly consist of upper middle class housewives and yorkshire terrier owners. Anti-politics, seriously why the gently caress is he in the parliament ?!  MOST-HÍD - the main Hungarian force in Slovakia with nowadays chill politics involving minorities (Hungarians that is) than make up something between 10-20 % of our population, most of their extreme voices left and failed to  this year. They still silently dream about the good old times when my ancestors slaved their asses off for their feudal overlords. Ironically one of the most moraly consistent parties since the Velvet Revolution. Pro-everything that is politically correct or Hungarian. #sieť - yes we have a party with hashtag in their name, their leader tried to score president seat last time, but meh, he has all the signs of a notorious liar. Comes from conservative-catholic party (failed this year as well) and has no traits that an average Goon would admire. They remain one of the surprises as nobody knows who will they align to at the upcoming negotiations. In memoriam of the parties that didn't make it this year (there is a 5% minimum to get seats in Slovak parliament) KDH - main catholic force since the fall of the Iron Courtain, many members used to be dissidents and activists during communist era. Favourite poo poo: God, banning gays, abortions and everything fun. KSS - the good old communist party, their voters deceased a lot due to being old, good times we had comrades  SDKÚ - former biggest center-right wing party, after commiting a political suicide they are even more pathetic, responsible for € in Slovakia, loosing sovereignity and lovely people. yogizh fucked around with this message at 17:41 on Mar 6, 2016 |

SaS is ok. I voted for them before, but they made some promises which they dropped to compromise with their coalition partners. Such as even marriages, decriminalization of light drugs and progressive taxes. Their anti EU stance indeed dissolved their last government and lead to return of Smer to power. EU parliament is run by eurocentric socialists in general so nobody gives a poo poo from that side. Our right wing is generally hosed, hustling to find common ground with liberals, catholics, conservatives, Hungarians. Not even a week after, the first liars started to emerge and it will be a damned miracle if we won't vote again.

Kiska acted according to our constitution. There is a legal issue that emerged last days and that is the previous ban on Kotleba's organization Slovenská pospolitosť (I have to drat idea how to translate that). Same thing happened some years ago in Czech Republic where their Dělnická strana (Workers/Labour party) was banned for the same reason and wasn't allowed to become a political party. The difference is that Czechs banned them before they've became a registered party, no members gained immunity as happened in Slovakia. Now they will sue each other for my tax money with barely any results as most sides in the argument are protected by the same immunity. President may/supposed to be the voice of reason, but I don't believe that is the case of Kiska. He has strong ties in USA and many NGO's and is going to do whatever is currently cool and politically correct. If you want to know why young people voted and support Most of their voters are certainly not neo-nazis. They voted for the first who spoke his mind without the political cliché and sounded willing to change poo poo. They cared very little about HOW he could achieve that.

Though at the moment they are being kind of dickish about not wanting to work with SNS when it looks like it will be either that or hold re-elections. As I mentioned before Most is really consistent for all the year, but they will never work with SNS until Béla Bugár is the boss of it. Ironically they are very similar in what they want. Family values, christianity, education, views on bussiness. The hate is unfortunately over a century old as SNS was in the times of Austro-Hungarian Empire and did everything for Slovaks to gain independence.

I think pretty much same as Avalerion. There was a desire for selfdetermination for a long time. Most normal folks still keep up good relations with Czechs, families have many ties. We left the borders open before EU happened and only football fans and idiots spread hate. Honestly I wouldn't mind keeping the federation together, unfortunately politics wanted two countries to exploit. People should remember Czechoslovakia as an example that nations can split up their states and don't kill each other in the process.
