yes a french press is a big jar plus some mesh on a stick. the beans/water temperature/steeping time have a lot more effect on the coffee quality than anything that different presses could change

the A team: a kitchen aid burr grinder, a breville espresso machine, a bona vita drip coffee maker, some kind of vacuum can for beans the B team: 3? french presses, an aeropress i've never used, a vacuum pot coffee maker, several ancient/antique percolators, one or two broken/bad drip coffee makers, probably more in storage. i think the only kind of coffee maker i dont have is a moka pot, and my wife plans on buying that for me for a birthday present probably

Frankly, I prefer it to true espresso if i'm just sipping a cup of pure black coffee. True espresso is more suited for a latte or americano or w/e, or desert drink served with biscotti after eating out at an italian place w/e moka pot coffee is just really good dense coffee
