I work with a guy who is (honestly) fascinated by tech and enthusiastic about working with it and has been in the business for like 30 years and he's just hopeless. I draw him a diagram: "these 4 services are running on every one of our machines. We have 4 machines and they are configured exactly the same way." He spends the rest of the week SSHing to each machine and being puzzled that they all look the same. Then the next week he asks me where our services run. His supervisor is not concerned.
