gun where you climb inside the barrel and live there and raise a family and send your kids off to college some day, then mary gets leukimia, but you stick by her side, just like you have for 20 years, and together you fight through it, and it goes into remission, but a few years later she starts going through dementia, and you have to do every thing for her, and you start to resent her, then her cancer comes back, but this time she's not strong enough to fight it, she's in pain, and she doesn't know what's going on, every day that passes she deteriorates, and you wonder if hospice care would be a better option, but before you can make the call, one day shes just gone, left in the night, she looks peaceful, so you tell yourself that its what she would have wanted, now it's just you and your dog, the kids have their own kids now, and tom's off in california, working for some big tech firm, he's a busy guy, so he only visits once a year, jill is in india, fighting for womens rights, mary would have been proud, if she were here to see it, she's got the same tenacious fighting spirit, then one day your dog doesn't get up from his nap, ol' rudy was 16, which might as well be a hundred in dog years, but he had the best life a dog could ask for, you think about buying another one, but you worry it might out live you, then where'll it go? you shouldn't put that kind of burden on such a loyal creature, then one day, you decide your time has come, so you squeeze the trigger and the gun shoots you into outer space
