Gawker represents, to me, a collection of people who think the paparazzi is good and that it's perfectly fine to harass people and invade privacy for self gain. They keep coming back to these lovely practices time and time again, gawker stalker celebrity harassment app, hosting rape videos and insulting the rape victims, hosting revenge porn, etc... I hope this gets the message across to everyone in journalism that you shouldn't be an absolute poo poo-oval office. I don't think it's complete poo poo or anything, but I'm not going to cry if some TMZ-type journalism website goes down the drain. Terrible people hating it makes me want to like it, but I can't find anything redeeming about it. ADINSX posted:Really? I hope this gets the message across to everyone in journalism that you shouldn't be an absolute poo poo-oval office. i must have missed the rape videos they hosted? the gawker stalker map was stupid but the "controversy" was overblown. it wasn't an app, in fact iphone apps did not exist when it was around. it was a google map with celeb sightings people emailed them about. i get the sense that Denton has no moral compass whatsoever and some of their editors (including AJ Dalureo) doubled down on the site's worst tendencies. on the other hand i think there have been a handful of good writers that have done some good work.
