Is that new? I've always had that issue on mobile since a month or so ago, and resorted to hubdialer on tablets for that very reason. Livevox is like 4 times as good since you're getting cellphone numbers instead of just landlines, but Hub still works in a pinch and you get to make calls at least.

Worked again Monday night on iPads running Puffin so seems to work. The campaign has told me that they don't want people using hubdialer because it's poo poo

ppl in the bernie thread wanted me 2 post this in the phonebanking thread so here it is

CLASSIC COMRADE'S OFFICIAL CANVASSING TIPS that i made up as i went along:

1. Ring the doorbell, then wait 10 seconds. Then knock on the door. Wait 20 seconds (do not ring the bell and knock at the same time-- the lady I was with did that once and the person who answered the door was VERY mad). If there's no response at that point, leave a flyer somewhere. !!!NOT THE GODDAMN MAILBOX!!!! because thats literally illegal

2. U don't have to stick to the script. I honestly didn't at all. I was just like "hi im with the bernie sanders campaign and i was just wondering if he could count on your vote on April 26? " then i went from there.

3. If someone is undecided, don't drop a truckload of info about every single one of Bernie's policies onto them all at once. Start out by asking them what THEY are worried about and what they care about. Don't hastily stuff 20 paragraphs worth of crap about your particular pet issue into their ear. They probably won't give a poo poo. Plus, asking what THEY are concerned about makes the conversation more about them than about you or Bernie. There's more chance for an empathetic/sympathetic connection.

4. If someone is pro-bernie, rad!!!! Ask them if they'd like to volunteer, and give them the address of your nearest campaign office.

5. If someone is pro-hillary or GOP, welp, oh well. Move on.

6. At the end of each actual conversation you have (that is, ppl who don't just slam the door in your face or say 'no thank u' or w/e), shake the person's hand. I really think this made a difference with people, ESPECIALLY older people. It just makes the experience seem more professional and polite.

ok that's what i've learned so far (ू•ᴗ•ू❁)

(also i would add that next time i'm thinking of bringing a little memo pad with me to write down phone numbers, addresses, websites, etc)

There's a big push for calls right now. Bernie wants about 2 million to NY from 15k volunteers.

This is probably true for every state, but it's do or die and now is the time to help. You'd hate for Bernie to lose and then be kicking yourself for not helping more.

Gravis Poll - New York Democratic Primary
Hillary Clinton: 53%
Bernie Sanders: 47%

6 loving POINTS ASSHOLES, let's get 'em! What info we have indicates there's a fairly large amount of undecided voters still remaining in New York. And voters who decide later usually go for Bernie (voters have had more than two decades to get on the Hillary train, if they haven't already they probably won't).

But WE HAVE TO loving FULL COURT PRESS THE poo poo OUT OF THEM SO THEY ACTUALLY COME OUT AND VOTE.

Here's my personal challenge to every one of you freaks: Go hit one single, solitary undecided voter. Ask them to consider Bernie, give them the website, tell them why you like Bernie or ask them what matters to them or share a story about how you skinned your knee when you were 3 or whatever your spiel is. Also :siren:tell them when and where the voting is:siren:

You don't even have to convince them to vote for Bernie - just find one Undecided and give 'em a shot. That's all you need to do to make a difference.

from Chandra on the Slack

quote:

Yes, I won't deny it. Last night was disappointing for a lot of us. We have become so accustomed to the polls underestimating Bernie, we thought they would be wrong with that one. 16% stings. Yes, the opposition took back 31 delegates after we cut into their lead by 110 post-Arizona. Let's just pause a sec to put that into perspective. The difference in delegates of the loss in NY was equivalent to the win in two quite small (delegate-wise) states of Alaska and Utah.

Imagine how much worse it would have been if last night's results had been consistent with the polling from before when we started calling.

31 - are we going to have to work hard to recover from that? Yes. Is it impossible? Absolutely not.

Polls from the past few days show us within single digits in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware. California's closing up the gap six weeks ahead of their primaries, as is New Jersey (keep in mind that six weeks before NY, Bernie was down by 48 percent in an Emerson poll (the same poll which, quite accurately as it turned out, placed him at around 15% in the days leading up to it). And though we haven't been polled, there's so much support for Bernie in Oregon, I believe we could wipe out that 31 delegate pick-up in our one small state alone. And NY has some of the worst primary laws in the country. We can do better in states with more reasonable systems.

*But none of this is possible without your help.* I know yesterday kind of kicked the stuffing out of us, anticipation-wise. We needed a day off. Even Bernie took a day off.

But our values, and the things we're fighting for, don't change because of one primary in one state. I'll be volunteering this weekend, both canvassing and as your pilot. I hope to see you there.

*You know what I'm going to ask. If you can make 5 calls for Bernie this weekend, or before then, please click on the green check-mark below.*

We're in this together!

@channel This campaign has been a roller coaster ride and these few days are probably the lowest of our lows together. Please read this whole post, but first I want to remind you that *we have a serious shot to WIN the open primary in Indiana and a whole bunch or even* *_all_* *of the other states in May* *_if we keep believing in each other_*

We made this place to help each other and have fun while making calls for Bernie, and to learn what it means to come together around a common purpose and a common goal. I don’t think we’re done yet. And I don’t think the American people are done yet.

You may have read that we lost a lot of campaign staff and this is true. But it’s also true that even if we were leading our opponent, we still would not need as much staff because there aren’t as many states left to vote. So the cuts are sad but necessary to focus everything we have on the remaining primaries. Our team will be losing a lot of the national campaign support that we enjoyed, but …

We have many, many Call Team members and several mentors that live in the delegate jackpot that is *California*, and that state has always been our strongest base of active phone bankers. I have reached out to the state directors to begin building relationships in the hopes that our team can help “do what we do” with more California locals: share our awesome community spirit and provide support and encouragement for new callers and for each other.

We want to simplify and improve this place in order to be more welcoming to new callers, so I’ll be archiving a lot of unused channels. And hopefully opening new ones to accommodate the different geographic regions of #california (<-- click and join!)

*Win or lose, blood sweat and tears, this team is going to leave it all on the field of battle for the next 6 weeks* and we are going to the convention with every vote and every delegate that we can possibly earn for Bernie’s ideals.

_I want to stress that six weeks is a lifetime in politics, and that anything can still happen._ We are going to give a voice to every voter in all 50 states and 7 territories. *As long as there are dials being made, the Call Team will be here speaking with voters and volunteers about the political revolution* and sharing Bernie’s extraordinary empathy for all living beings.

We can still win.
