Apparently those big floppy ears help them trap scents, but I think breeders just did it because they look so silly and cute that way.

Yes, well fourth generation pet quality crossbreeds tend to start at a thousand dollars.

I'd rather adopt a dozen tabbies.

unbelievably they pop up from time to time in the local shelters around where I live. theyre usually only in there long enough to get checked up and put up for adoption before theyre scooped up though.

There's probably a breeder in your area who isn't good about homing their Bengals then.

The shelter I volunteer at is doing a $16 adoption special for March. We also just got 40 cats in from a hoarding situation, with almost all of them being black.

So what I am saying is, I know where you can get a black cat army on a budget.

Oh I wish I could, but I live in a two bedroom crackerbox apartment with two cats (one black, one tabby) already.

One thing I never got about people who hate squirrels hitting up their bird feeders is, if that keeps happening, why don't they just put out a squirrel feeder closer to the squirrel's habitat?

Although watching that squirrel spin around is a bit funny.

Birds naturally lack the receptors that make mammals react to spicy foods. They can eat things that are so spicy humans would find them inedible.

I read about a guy who had a pack of crows following his car around for a similar reason. They kept doing this after he sold the car, and the guy he sold it to had no idea what the gently caress.

Crows are pretty smart, they and the whole corvid family are avid tool users, including using cars to crack nuts (waiting for the light to turn red to pick them up).

Since we're posting cats now, here's mine, her name is Toffee:

Currently she lives at my mom's house but when my sister moves out she's going to take the cat with her. She was a stray that we took in a year or so ago because she was so skinny and sad looking that my sister refused to leave her. I'm kinda glad we did because she turned out to be like the most affectionate cat I've ever seen.

She's teeny tiny, always has been, both in width and height. We haven't ever been able to figure out why but boy is she cute.
