Just went to visit the cat shelter, and thought I'd bring back some pictures for the new cute thread! Crackerjack is about to be fostered for a bit, so I thought I'd say hi. He was as enthused as ever.  This is Olive, who I assume is called that because she's brownish and spherical  Frank Porter was engaged in one of his favorite pastimes: looking ridiculous  These guys are Dally and Baboo, and they are adorable goofs  Rudyard is both massively handsome and handsomely massive  This little guy is a stray that just came in, so he doesn't have a name yet. He does seem to be enjoying his new digs, though

I commented that I wanted them (senior cats chillest cats), so they got them both to the vet for checkups. Turns out, the orange one was in such bad shape he had to be put down after a couple days living with a shelter employee, given the best couple days he probably ever had. I picked up the old white man, who the shelter called Grandpa so I named Pawpaw. cute thread best thread

Decided to drop by the cat shelter on my day off, and got to meet a few of the newcomers! Joseph took some time off his busy schedule of sleeping in his hidey hole to completely ignore me  Here's Levon, being handsome/puzzled  This is Magellan, in mid "I just woke up, damnit" stretch  This is either Lolly, or a big pile of dryer lint. Still not sure  Here's Tails. She's tiny, and has no tail  Mousie appears to have melted, slightly  Candy found me to be fascinating    This handsome fellow is Smoky Joe. He's one of the softest cats I've ever pet

I thought now would be as good a time as any to dump a bunch more photos from the shelter on everyone. Smokey Joe would LOVE for me to leave some foreign objects in there  An adorable kitten sleeps peacefully in his hammock  Sister Sophia is stuck between a bed and a soft place  Here's Hannah, enjoying an immediately-post-dinner nap  Josie, being remarkably poised  Little Bear is fascinated by most things  The shelter just took in several cats that were rescued from a neglectful home. Since they were found near an air museum, they were nicknamed "The Squadron" As you can see with Peacemaker, here, they were pretty malnourished, but they're getting fatter, friendlier, and a lot more comfortable.  Here's Rockwell, or, at least, some sort of Rockwell-like ooze  Hudson and Thunder were sleeping away the day until some rear end in a top hat bothered them by taking pictures

It's been a rough couple of weeks, so I thought now would be a good time for more photos from MEOW! Guy couldn't be bothered  Joey was looking quite majestic  Desmond is a bit older (around 12-13), but here he is, looking surprisingly spry  This is Nelly, or possibly some sort of teddy bear  Jake also couldn't be bothered  Maddie is a truly striking individual  Tiger II was oozing a bit...  ... as was Smokey Joe

The shelter just got a cloud! A very grumpy cloud  His name is Sir Marshmallow, and despite his constant grumpy look, he's a real sweetheart  Obligatory hammock-based kitten pile picture  And finally, we have a special return guest: Kitty Big Paws is back!  As friendly, adorable, and beefy as ever

Seeing as he's such an awesome cat, it should come as no surprise that someone has already snatched up Kitty Big Paws! I thought I would stop by to see him before he left. He was clearly thrilled to see me when I showed up  But then, he realized that it was lap time  As has been known to happen, lap time turned into nap time  Pictured here: one of Kitty Big Paws' big paws  I'm going to miss that beefy lump

Stopped by the shelter for a quick visit, and got to meet some of the new guys This is Bongo, who was fairly disinterested  Prince Monterey prefers an empty litterbox to an actual bed  Boo is very handsome, but couldn't be bothered  Cowboy is a big ol' beefy lump  Vitani is a grumpy old fella, but he loves his toys  It's a lot of work, but luckily they had some help around the office from Leopold, a handsome and inquisitive bengal   So sleek and dignified

The shelter got a Scottish Fold and some adorable British Shorthair kittens!   I'll be going back to visit them soon, so I'll try to get some more pictures.
