I'd bet more on getting the latter than the former since they want their phone games to grow audiences on their products instead of sell to the same audience on a different product that they aren't getting a full-cut on. I bet a simplified battle system would work well enough if they went full mobage gacha system on building your teams. Not so simplified that it's barely there like certain mobile games like summoner wars, but if it had about as much depth as fgo/gbf/pad that'd be a sweet balance

A friend of mine seems absolutely convinced this thing is going to be two separate consoles (handheld and full on console) instead of being one console with a docking feature. He reasons it's just the dev team that's merging and the two consoles will both use the same cartridges. Someone tell me if this is stupid or not because he forced me to make a five dollar bet over it and I'd rather keep my five for a lunch
