God drat, Dan Didio, what is with you and Kamandi? He seems to really want to make Kamandi a thing and hasn't managed to yet.

Didio loves anything by Kirby, and the Metal Men. Despite all his bullshit, I have to give him the maddest of props for this Kamandi series. Who else would gather such a varied group of creators for a Kamandi book?

The cynic in me says that he's doing that a) because he is struggling to find a breakout hit and b) someone's got to try to make use of those trademarks and IP. Didio is absolutely willing to "try stuff", it's just that outside of Jonah Hex for some reason (possibly because again, his close friend of 20+ years he broke into the business with was writing it) Jonah Hex is the only one of these projects that seemed to last much more than a year. There's also a difference between loving old properties and wanting to do right by them and basically going "awww gently caress I guess we need to do a GI Zombie story? Someone use that name and come up with a GI Zombie story. Whatever. We'll publish it for six issues and then replace it with *flips through pages* Forever People, I guess?"

Didn't he write or co write Forever People? He's also written OMAC and the Metal Men. Going by what he puts his name on, Dan has some good taste.

Also, I have to say that Wonder Woman Earth One was wonderful. Absolutely gorgeous.

Jokers Daughter would be great if she was a comedy villain for the Teen Titams. That would take DC realizing the Teen Titans should be a fun book.

They should just keep her in civilian clothes. After a while comic book aliens don't seem that out of the ordinary, but putting one in basic human clothes makes a good contrast. Kind of like how everyone goes nuts for Vision in a sweater.

Ted Kord is pretty much Spider-Man as an adult. Read his introduction in Crisis on Infinite Earths, and tell me that it doesn't read like Spidey. Ted Kord and Jaime Reyes are both awesome. Being like Spider-Man is almost never a bad thing.

I remember it also being up in the air whether it was actually part of the continuity or if it was just Hitch's little playground. But apparently it was because it's referenced as being part of what messed up New 52 Superman before he died.

I thought the first two issues were solid before I decided to trade wait. Felt like a big JLA story from the Morrison/Waid era. My love for Hitch on JLA may be colored by the stellar work he did with the prestige format story JLA: Heaven's Ladder he did with Waid.

Good thing there's no third act in comics. Grayson's reluctance to stay in Gotham now that he isn't Robin keeps them from ever being together. For being a Batman family character, Dick isn't beholden to Gotham. It's a shame that Morrison never touched on their relationship while Dick was Batman. That'd be the one time where those two would have a chance.
