I cannot BELIEVE how good that game looks, holy poo poo. There is something eternally mystifying about walking around and having giant monsters fly overhead. The Chocobo next to the car was a little jarring, but I think that's because I just haven't had a good Final Fantasy with magic and technology mixing in a way too long time.

The combat looked fine because I understand that for some reason instead of hiring someone like AccountingNightmare to play they will have the scrubiest intern demo the game and they dont know how to do anything, but that bosses attack patterns seemed so insanely boring to me and a lot of his GIANT BODY seemed to blend together.

So if I'm great at DMC/Bayonetta/MGR:R, will any of those skills translate over at all? I have no demo access

That's perfect then because I've always felt KHII to be extremely fun and exciting.

SO I recognize male gaze & fanservice being super aggressive factors in the Cidney thing... but this is one of the main characters of the game and if I'm not mistaken he basically looks like this the whole game. Yeah he's a soldier & and yeah he's technically on an undercover escort mission so he has lots of in game reasons to be super hot//buff and also not wearing armor... but you're kidding yourself if you don't think the gaming girl community (which is utterly massive and comparatively whisper silent to the internet troll hordes) isn't all slashing their favorite hunky husbando right now. I'm NOT using this to legitimize her outfit (which is absolutely not any worse than anything else that has ever been in any other FF) I'm just saying they are actually treating men in the same polished and unrealistic way, more or less. I mean, someone mentioned characters always dressing like they are at the beach, and I found it interesting that in Final Fantasy X, a game which roughly more than half of it takes place literally on a beach, the sexy, fan service character was actually wearing the most clothes of anyone in the party.

So I am super glad I trusted my instincts and didn't just splurge purchase a PS4 for this game, since apparently by X-mas time they'll have released all the DLC ( aand the rest of the single player storyline LOL)and i'll maybe be able to just pick up the whole kit & kaboodle for $60 probably... At least there are roughly ten million other games to play right now...

Final Fantasy XV is maybe the definitive example "Oh man, I'm so glad I waited on a PC port." I would just way rather wait to experience the game + all DLC in a big chunk then this long, slow process of releasing the game in chunks.

Nina posted:All the DLC will be way better as a part of the game you're freshly experiencing instead of having to wait for months to get these small bits of content. Yeah I rented it from a redbox to play on my dads XBone and got like 4 hours in to the first dungeon and was like "I know in my heart I'll enjoy this more on my PC and besides I can just go play the Witcher 3."

But now I'm caught in the middle. I was stoked to just wait and buy the full version when they drop it on PC but apparently that port will suck so maybe it's not worth waiting?

FYI, both the Bloodborne thread and Negrotown had to jump ship to a new thread because the mods cant figure out what to do apparently
