All Japanese people know what the Ainu people are. The main thing is that they have no recognized rights as an aboriginal people.

Like others have said the forced assimilation and racism also happened/happens in North America and we as a society have no issue with Native Americans appearing in media. We don't imagine that they don't exist and neither does Japan.

This series is actually an awareness campaign on the effects of negligent parenting on a child's psyche. Machi's mental age is seriously a couple of years behind.

I'd admit Natsu is going a good job but he's more like an old sibling taking the role of care taker and you have to admit that that's bearly a good replacement for actual parents.

The other idols are all country folk too and it's such a local event that it's far removed from the actual idol industry. Machi just has a huge persecution complex.

This anime was pretty mediocre but the ending theme was really good and the non-non-watamote thing it was doing was kind of interesting.
