Turns out the pilot had used his flight simulator to simulate a flight where he veered off the normal path and flew to the southern Indian Ocean which is exactly what everybody thinks the plane did. So it would be a really huge coincidence if wasn't suicide.

Plane still gone but this is probably what happened, "Malaysia acknowledged for the first time that one of the pilots of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 had plotted a course on his home flight simulator to the southern Indian Ocean, where the missing jet is believed to have crashed. Australian officials overseeing the search for the plane last month said data recovered from Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah's simulator included a flight path to the southern Indian Ocean.
