To be fair, Makoto asked Akane to teach her a spell, and she did. Same with Chinatsu, and Inukai technically stole that candy after being told to not eat it. It's not Akane's fault if there's interesting, harmless, and amusing side effects.

And the Trick and Treat was pretty intentionally picked. She doesn't want Chinatsu to legitimately try to be a witch. But tricking her into giving it up of her own accord via bad experiences with magic is a good solution.

I just got caught back up on this show and it's great :3 I got a seriously good laugh out of the fox's sound.

Also really liked the animation of Chinatsu pulling Chito over the bus seat when they were going out to pick herbs. Cats are liquid most of the time after all.

I'm going to have to pick up a copy of the OST somehow. It's a great part of the show and does an amazing job of painting the mood and environment of a quiet, pastoral life.
