One of my favorite parts of GMK is near the beginning, they make an offhand remark about a recent monster attack in New York that the Americans claim was Godzilla, but Japanese scientists are sure it wasn't.

Godzilla 2000 did this too I think. Or whichever one it was that came out after Zilla.

For as lovely as the movie was the first trailer with Godzilla stomping on the T-Rex was awesome.

Eh, i don't hate it. Though I've really come to love how bulky and massive Edwards' Godzilla is.

I think some of the night scenes were a little bit too dark. Or maybe it was in the convention to digital/bluray but God drat the movie is really dark.

I'm going to be super mad if any future Kaiju movie has Gigan or Magalon without the other. Those two are best buds and I would follow their wacky kaiju adventures any day.

Saw this today. Holy loving poo poo this movie was so good. So so good. There were some really inspiring shots and the buildup towards the atomic breath was insane. First it's this smog/gas that then turns to flame that envelops the city and then it concentrates into a bean holy loving wow!

The final battle was also incredibly well done. The train bombs were pretty neat but when they start dropping on him I was like yeah this is loving amazing.

PJ's Kong was exhausting. Like here's Kong fighting a T-Rex while protecting the girl, cool. Now here's a second T-Rex, oh poo poo.

Now here's a third T-Rex. Why? The whole movie just keeps adding past what's needed in a lot of its scenes. Like here's a stampede but also a raptor chase. The Empire State Building scene / death was surprisingly muted compared to the rest of it.

If you look close it talks about more kong stuff too, like a rogue monarch agent returning to the island in 95 to find kong.

Not just a rogue agent, Brooks' son (named Aaron).Apparently the mission goes horribly wrong because we don't hear from them for 17 years until Aaron contacts Houston (from the island?) with a coded message about Kong's origins.

Mothra is a cocoon in China, Ghidorah is frozen, Rodan chilling in a volcano. The timeline has a mention of a MUTO dig site in Afghanistan but I don't think there's any particular kanji tied to that area?
