If you preorder Revelator right now (if you do it from the EU store you won't be charged until a bit before release) you get access to a demo which is essentially the offline arcade version of the game.

A stick won't make you a better player. If you've spent your entire life playing on pad, you should probably stick with that.

Also, try Killer Instinct. It is a good and fun game.

I switched from pad to stick cause it helped with RSI

Amazon probably still has wwe brawl sticks in new/like new condition for dirt cheap, if you want a starter stick get one of those and a sanwa lever instead

Thanks for the responses, I'll try to make it out sometime. I can't find much information about what goes on there, is it just the tournament or are there free matches going on? As much fun as it sounds, getting knocked out in round one doesn't seem like very good practice.

American FGC usually does double elimination so you get to experience getting bopped twice before they tell you you can't play in the tournament anymore

The Melty Port is technically solid and they were very responsive in pushing out patches to address people's issues with the netcode and a couple of other niggles, so I fully expect the UNIEL port to come out just fine, and even if it has launch issues, ArcSys will be fixing them promptly.

the uniel netcode was never good in the first place, don't get your hopes up unless they straight up went and hired madscientist to work on both melty and unib somehow

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Nintendo have a lot to do with Project M being dead? Like, they (directly or indirectly) kept people from playing or streaming it alongside the real games at events and that's one of the major factors it got dropped by the modders and everyone else?

There were apparently rumblings of a major lawsuit that was going to get filed against them, which is why you can't even download the latest version of the mod from the site anymore
