I was wondering why they would put a really revealing outfit on a male character, but then all became clear.

Could someone explain the "Just like in that doujin!" joke from Ako in the most recent episode?

I thought it was supposed to be a reference that only she understood, because she's a crazy person. Perhaps explained later in a flashback or something.

Ako going full yandere or something would not surprise me in this series even though it's probably not the case. She has the distaste for society of Tomoko from WataMote and the near disassociation from reality of Rika from Chuunibyou. She's still sorta endearing, but it's a bit too early if her lack of sense becomes too grating.

The scenes in episode 2 where Ako was clearly not understanding the social boundaries the others wanted in real life was very effectively creepy. It's sad that Nishimura's wife is mentally ill (and bad at games).

I'm curious if they will actually explore this or simply ignore it in future episodes.

I hope he ends up with Schew.

Honestly, I find it somewhat implausible that she even knows what "normie" means, given how little else she knows.

It's just a reference to a Japanese internet meme. A: "You're going to do something terrible to me! Just like in an ero doujin!" B: "No I'm not, Jesus Christ." is how it typically goes, according to the niconictionary, you're one stop shop for terrible meme explanations in Japanese.

Speaking of, this:

Is a reference to the Wall Punching Proxy Service, the people who punch walls for you when you see a normie doing normie things and need to punch a wall, but either don't have a wall to punch, or don't have the muscles with which to punch one.

This thread is gonna be like watamote where everyone gets angry at ako/tomoko because they are projecting their own self loathing and desire to fit with the horrid people that make modern society on them and want the girls to fulfill that ideal for themselves. Not me though I know ill die a virgin neet on a pile of trahs and hell, thats fine with me

This isn't nearly as painful to watch as Watamote, probably because Ako isn't our viewpoint character.
