Cash Crab, why don't you have a blue raccoon for your mod star? Is the STDH that you were made a mod? You can tell us.

I don't know about Butchart Gardens, but a lot of places don't allow costumed people in because other visitors assume they're representing the park (can't wear a furry costume at theme parks, for example). Victorian clothing is odd enough that I can see administrators being wary. I highly doubt it went down the way she said - they sound utterly insufferable and she's way too dedicated to being completely in the right over the evil John Tomlinson.

But does it not hurt? Does it hurt some of the time and not others?

Hurts horribly and leaves amazing scars.

I hate that man just for the "some plonker" line. If you're American, there is no natural way to use "plonker".

Food deserts are a thing, but if Cracker McWhitebread is spending $32 on grapes they're probably not living in one.

I say this as someone who is broke most of the time and just hosted friends for $20. Got three types of cheese, Concord grapes, blackberries, strawberries, and golden kiwi. I even went to a fancy market that just opened up in my crumby neighborhood.

You figure it was 2 bucks for the nuts, maybe another 2 for the soda, so that means they spent $28 on a pineapple, grapes, and raspberries. Maybe they went to one of those Japanese luxury fruit stores.

Crackers McWhitebread is black.

But see, a porn mag company offered him a free magazine out of the blue(did they ever do that back when porn mags were a thing people bought? it seems pointless for multiple reasons), and that's hijinks.

Yes, because I remember getting them as a shy, awkward early-teen girl that did not have any interest in porn mags being mailed to my home, because I was on some mailing list. My folks just laughed it off and threw out the cards. The scam was that they sent you a free one but subscribed you for a year, so you had to call and unsubscribe to not get more than the free one, except that was in .01 size font on the bottom of the card. I also got a sex toy catalog that thoroughly embarrassed me, so much I had to keep it and hide it under my bed. The 80's were a different time.

We had a kid that said he could set flowers on fire with his mind, and that he'd worked as an animator at Disney. In high school.

I liked encouraging him just to see how far he'd go. I didn't realize how sincere I seemed until a mutual friend pulled me aside and said, "you know none of this is real, right?" Yes, I know.

Does flapjack mean something different to her? Around here, it's another word for a pancake, and those aren't things you make early and leave sitting around in a tin.

ETA: It's a type of oat bar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flapjack_(oat_bar)
