Beastie posted:I just started reading the series (had it on my Kindle for years) and the same day I was reading this thread and saw the post you are referring to was the same day I came across this line. Is it the part where the kid dies? I don't care enough to dig through boxes for my copy, but now I'm curious.

AlbieQuirky posted:They're more in keeping with the original story, which is pretty unsettling (after she gets her legs, every step she walks is agonizingly painful, and then the prince dude marries some other woman). Don't forget the part where mermaids don't have souls, so she turns into foam when she dies! After committing suicide because she can't bring herself to kill the prince. Disney version left some good stuff out.

cyberia posted:(Again, posting as a tattoo snob) I hate, hate, hate, hate those 'minimalist' tattoos. Why bother getting something the size of a dime? The tattooist will literally spend twice as long setting up and breaking down their station than they will actually tattooing you. It seems like such a cop out of people wanting to be seen as artsy or trendy or whatever while putting no original thought into the tattoo. Argh, it makes me so mad. Never search for micro tattoo. You get pages and pages of poo poo like this:

Real question: How much would constant shaving ruin a tattoo? I realize it's only scratching off the top layer of of skin cells, but that has to be similar to getting a palm or sole tattoo, right? Same question about those armpit tattoos posted earlier.
