There's still no Steam release date but a trailer mistakenly had a Steam release date of March 10 in it that has since been removed. Hopefully the actual release date won't be too long delayed.

The game defaulted to my integrated graphics and when I switched it over to my video card it bugged out and only showed a white screen. I'm updating my graphics drivers right now to see if that fixes it.

Edit: driver update fixed things, hurray

This game is so far really cool. It gives me huge dark souls vibes. Starting it off with a bullet hell galaga thing was like awesome.

I do have one little problem, which is that my game plays in slow motion. The cut scenes play at normal speed, but playing the game it's like everything is running through molasses.

If you're playing on something with integrated graphics make sure to force your computer to use your graphics card instead. Otherwise it might just be that your computer isn't very good, like mine. I get some pretty bad slowdown, especially in the city ruins, but get decent framerates in most places.

The butt accounts for at least half of the weight difference.

So, I have an odd question for those of you with any knowledge of Japanese. (Route B spoilers) So, when 9S is trapped in his own mind or whatever and Adam is messing with him, Adam says something along the lines of "You're thinking about how much you want to **** 2b , aren't you?". I assumed the point of that statement was that **** could stand for both "gently caress" or "kill", since they're both four letter words and fit into the weird sex-and-violence themes that the game has going, like with the strangling scene. But the game is Japanese, which makes me wonder - what was that line in the original Japanese text? Having **** stand for either word only works in English. Do they do something similar, or did it perhaps turn out that they were explicitly referring to one word, not both?

It's even better as a pun in Japanese because you can use the exact same verb (yaru) to mean "kill" or "gently caress" in different contexts. It's sorta like "do them" vs "do them in", I guess?

Note: I haven't actually reached the line in question so I'm speculating

Also, my damage output has dropped off a cliff. I am level 21, fighting level 25 enemies and they take like, 10 minutes to kill. My weapons are only level 2, but I don't know if that's unreasonable, as I haven't encountered the mats to raise them to level 3 yet.

I beat Route A with level 2 weapons and was consistently underleveled from where you're at right now up until that ending. Took me longer to do things but in the end my damage output was still adequate imo.

Maybe it's because 2B inherits her weapon loadout from route A, but during route B I've noticed that she's a lot more deadly in combat than 9S was when I was playing as 2B.

Gold enemies need to be hacked to damage them appreciably.

No reason not to use Virtuous Contract or any other weapon, it won't take the weapon from 2B. Unfortunately I don't think you can change 2B's loadout, but I think she is affected by any upgrades you make to the weapons she's got equipped.

I don't think I was exaggerating. Like I said, the differences aren't totally derailing or anything (certainly not petition worthy, lol). Just, applied to the dialogue all throughout the game, it subtly but noticeably changes the tone of some characters compared to the original Japanese. 9S in particular comes off as jerkier imo.

Speaking of Sartre Jean-Paul, I wonder how Beauvoir would feel about her name being attached to a narcissistic robot so obsessed with abstract beauty standards she'll turn into a cannibal in order to attract a disinterested boor of a man. "Becomes a woman" indeed.

The story ends with her realizing that the struggle to become beautiful was all meaningless, but it's all she has left so she clings to it. She wasn't narcissistic, merely obsessed with that ideal, as many of the robots in the game are. I personally think it's a great cautionary tale about not letting yourself be defined by such things.

When the game tells you to go to the Flooded City, the thing you do there is the point of no return for most of the sidequests.

Even in B mode A2 looks more dressed than 2B which is odd but true. They could fix 2B by adding tights and/or removing the huge rip in the front of the dress btw. Idk what's going on with commander's outfit though.

As far as I can tell, her "top" doesn't actually cover her chest, it's just a torn rag covering her abdomen. And the rest of her "clothes" is either painted on or is just the underlying android body with most of the artificial skin gone.

Yeah, I think any YoRHa that hadn't synced up with the server in a long time are fine as long as they didn't run into infected units capable of spreading the virus. It's quite possible there's a bunch of deserters and other isolated survivors out there besides the few you see in-game.

Edit: Post-ending E, with the machines presumably gone off on their Ark, I would love to see some sort of epilogue with the protagonists, Yorha survivors, and the Resistance building a new society for themselves. Mankind's children, finally stepping out from under the shadow of their parents.
