Drakengard 2 had exactly one contribution to the rest if the series, in that it established Dragons being an opposing existence to the Watchers, a detail which forms much of the backbone for Drakengard 3's plot.

I thought the first one was fine, interesting writing and characters, but the combat is so braindead easy that it seriously brought the experience down for me.

Even after playing the demo people expected Voice of the Cards to be a secret Taroverse game. Apparently it sort of is, I never finished them but I've been told one of the games has a straight up Grimoire

Because we cannot have peace on this Earth, the recent Nier concert had some new Lore Stuff, post-Ending-E Automata stuff, stuff from the Replicant remake, and of all things, seemingly canonizing elements of the Church Hoax, because why the gently caress not.
