This is a few updates old, but shopkeepers come in three varieties in roguelikes: "I can kill this once I'm strong", "this isn't worth the effort to kill", and  . Doom Reapers and Kecleon both veer more towards the latter two circumstances. Hell, all the Chunsoft Mystery Dungeon shopkeeps lean towards that. Shiren the Wanderer's are doubly awful since they block the exit when you pick up an item and you don't have easy access to wall-break technology like in this game.Kinfolk910 posted:I forget. What do the feathers do again exactly? And why you need so many of them? You use them like tags to get permanent effects? You need the feather as a spell to cast the spell and the books are the ammo? Feathers are essentially character traits. You don't use them, once you gain them they're passive boosts, red feathers aside.
