This seems like such an upper class issue. How do people even manage to rally player outcry around reduced capital ship ratting income?

Someone said that this change would make it harder to bring newbies to incursion fleets because now they could no longer use supers for support.

Maybe the Rorqual should have a minigame where you use a tractor beam to guide a 2D asteroid chunk through various canals and eventually into the ore hold. You then need to give it little nudges to keep it on course or it crashes into the side and gets vaporized while the Rorqual takes some structure damage.

Then you can balance Rorqual mining around one or two per human.

to be fair, skill injectors aren't a unique pathway to trading isk for skills -- the character bazaar has existed for as long as i've been around, probably longer, so you've always been able to trade isk for skills

hell, i did this heavily to bootstrap myself past what my normal rate of SP gain would have allowed back in 2010, i had a carrier pilot within 6 months of starting just from selling scanned DED plexes to bittervet runners

however, the character bazaar had (has, really) a very limited throughput -- only a limited number of pilots that do the thing you want were available at any time

skill injectors massively increased the granularity of the whole process (and how much CCP makes from it,) which has the potential to accelerate dramatically game imbalances like rorqual mining

with no skill injectors, i'm sure we'd have seen 9T mined in a month in Delve, but it would have taken years, rather than months

Oh yeah because there wouldn't have been that many ready Rorqual pilots.

Just participated in my first major fleet fight. We took double Titan bridges so we barely had to take any gates.

Landed on the enemy. Fired my weapons and was instantly vaporized and podded back home for free without having to take gates. If that's not total victory then I don't know what is :toot:

I am really confused by skins. I would buy some I like but the combinations aren't there.

Like why does the Lachesis have 2 fewer skins than the Celestis when a skin is the only difference in the first place?

Or the bundles. Why is there a Marauder bundle? Do Marauder pilots often alternate between ships? Why isn't there a T1 cruiser or T1 frigate bundle instead? Or even a logi bundle?

Or just all the police skins in the world for all the ships. I would pay money for a police Lachesis skin or a police Dictor/Hictor skin.

I got the idea of training a few alts. I figured I would train them as Alpha clones for "free" for as long as possible. Then change them to omega with the recruitment program since I would get the same 30 days on my main account anyway (plus 250k SP per alt)

The problem. These Alpha clones need their skill queue updated every single day and it's a big hassle.

Right now it looks like everyone has all the space they want and then a few bonus border regions on top.

Scarcity alone won't make conflict forever. It makes conflict while the scarce resources are fought over by too many people, until the losers sift out and the winners sit on the resource. Then you have to ratchet up the scarcity again to restart the cycle.

If you want scarcity to make permanent conflict, you have to add a reason for the losers to keep coming back. Not just the hope that maybe you can take those resources, a reasonable belief that they can win. But if they have that, you don't even need scarce resources to fight over.

Increase moongoo value by 5000% and then randomly shuffle the moon types every month.

Also make it so you need sov to mine the moon and the structure only starts mining after being online for a week.

This would only apply to a few moongoo materials obviously. A handful of moons and their location would be publicly available from some NPC.

More timers is what EVE needs, obviously.

Any idea of randomly changing the resources if doomed to fail in its infancy. Sov warfare is a messy business which takes a lot of time and energy and I doubt anyone wants to conquer a region, set up everything and just to have to conquer a different region the next month because the resource changed. Maaaaaybe if they changed it once or twice a year but even then, i'm not sure.

Most good wars in EVE were fought over something else then resource. Whether it was personal hatred or simply having to remove a perceived thread. Ultimately the conflicts are created through human condition and not any virtual items or resource.

No. gently caress you, it's a good idea.

I don't expect much from player built gates considering the massive leash they have on something so already limited as jump bridges.

It's funny listening to old stories of jump bridges forming continuous networks across regions. Used offensively to strike instantly from the heart of your own home system to an enemy buffer region.
