God drat it. The piss machine cat has been crawling inside our year old couch and pissing. He also peed on my bookshelves and damaged a couple hundred dollars in rare books. And judging from the black light we're going to have to pay to replace all the carpeting in this place when we leave. This sucks but i looks like I'm getting rid of him.

Buy that car. So earlier I came into the thread because yet another cheap Mazda6 has dropped into my lap. 2003, 160K, automatic, full records of oil changes, 2 year old tires. $1200. No visible rust issues. Offhand I do not know which engine it has but I think it might make a fantastic beater. Plus my winter wheels from the MS6 would bolt right up. But then SCA posted about those S?C Mustangs and holy poo poo it's all I can think about right now.

Magnus Praeda posted:Does anyone have experience with vinyl plank flooring? I'm going to replace the carpet in my office and bedroom with *something* and although I'd love to put in hardwood, it's just too spendy. I'm looking at LVP since it doesn't have the "your floor is ruined if water sits on it too long" issue and I'm thinking about getting a dog at some point in the future. It's also a decent price (like $2-2.50/sq. ft.). I've just never used it before. It's incredibly easy to install if you're even slightly handy. My brother and installed it in every room of the second floor of our mothers house. Just buy a cheap install kit at Harbor Freight, watch a few videos on YT and go for it. It also helps to have a chop saw handy, cutting the planks by hand sucks. And if you want to go crazy and have a dremmel for fitting around small things like closet corners it doesn't hurt to have that around.

That seems like it would save a lot of time, but I've never really used my miter saw for anything but wood. I honestly don't remember what blade I used to be honest. I just told the guy at Menards what I was doing and what kind of saw we were using.

A friend of mine is in a goofy band called Confused Boner. They primarily play dive bars and parties, pretty much playing to have fun, not for popularity or anything. Well they've been labeled as Trans-phobic by a LBGT rights chapter here in town and are now being witch hunted because of the stupid name they chose for the band. They played a show on Saturday night and someone walked up to the stage with a glass and splashed it on them. It turned out to not be beer but piss instead. People are silly.

It broke when they had pulled halfway out of their parking space so it was blocking part of their parking area. I just went to scope it out after work, the axle is pulled out of the diff, grease everywhere, boot torn to poo poo. The ball joint is worn as hell with a ton of dust trapped in the rubber ring. So long story short, they recently ascended from poverty and both got good jobs. But this car was a holdover from that and they still owe $1600 on it so they don't have the title and they can't just scrap it right this moment. So it had to move down to the other end of the gravel park. They just needed it moved so I used the scissor jack from the trunk to lift it high enough, then I kicked the wheel back so the ball joint would be resting on the inner rim and lowered the car. Then we threw it in neutral and despite the deafening scraping noise I was able to ease it backwards down the hill where it will live until they decide what to do with it.

I offered to help with repairs but she's fed up with the car. This is the same one I swapped out the busted bumper and fender on last year, it's been slowly falling apart on them for a while now.

I'm gonna see what they want to do but she seems pretty keen to burn the car to the ground. But if it's a difference between $150 in scrap and selling it as a $500 runner she may change her mind.
