There's even an explanation with the whole "inheriting Carol Danvers' psyche" thing. Isn't that basically Bishop?

That probably should have been left in, I think; Kaluuya's character is just a bit underdeveloped and the relationship between them needed a bit more fleshing out. I almost forgot they were even a couple until she was standing in front of a charging rhino.
