Let's talk about some lesser known vgm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rud_qEyRDGw necrodancer had a lot of great music. the game itself is alright but it almost just felt like an excuse for some kickass tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JOXfRqND0Q

NickRoweFillea posted:The soundtrack to DUSTFORCE is great. it's extremely chill FactsAreUseless posted:Turn-based roguelike, but everything is done to the beat of the songs. It's really good. Like it's a very well-designed roguelike even without the rhythm elements, and it has a lot of ideas I hope other games borrow from it. I think it's great. its a good game but im not super good at traditional roguelikes lol. theres a character that lets you play levels at your own pace without the rhythm stuff and it's still pretty loving hard

apropos to nothing posted:the best necrodancer song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40kBkxknDGk i prefer the cold versions a bit, but its kickass that the game smoothly flips between instruments depending on what part of the stage youre on FactsAreUseless posted:Bard (no rhythm) is harder than Cadence, because enemies won't act on their own. So you were actually holding yourself back. With Bard, enemies only act when you move, but there are a lot of situations where being forced to move will get you hurt or killed, but standing still, sacrificing your multiplier, and letting an enemy approach is the best option. ive gotta try it again once ive completely beaten enter the gungeon, which also has some cool music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osgkfWNgCZA

i love it when boss/combat music is the stage music remixed to be heavier and more climactic, shovel knight does it best but hyperlight drifter is another good example (even if its simplistic). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqr7ahk66YE
