So in western fiction I've seen the idea of "the restaurant at the end of the Universe" a few times. A sort of temporal nexus where people from all realms and/or timelines can converge and usually positioned just before the universe ceases to exist. And given that the clients are from across time and space they usually serve pretty much anything a customer can request. Have any of these Isekai touched on this particular setup or something similar? It seems that any connections are between two places, earth and some fantasy land.

We need more main heroines like this. It was a great moment when The typical fireworks confession happens, and instead of just petering out main girl goes for round 2 and conveys what she is feeling.

Here's a neat little oneshot about the bond that can form over hate-eating your way through a restaurant's menu.

I heard that American pancakes don't have green onions which really took me aback because when you think pancakes, you think green onions and black pepper. I doublechecked and went to this other American channel I follow that did some cooking and his recipe did not have any green onions, just sugar, blueberries, and a homemade batter.

I wonder if it's a taste thing

See, now I'm confused why you'd put onions and peppers in your pancakes if they aren't potato pancakes. What country has the norm of mixing onions with the batter?

There are definitely savoury pancakes that are soft and fluffy on the inside, but if you're talking specifically about sweet ones in what culture do people have sweets for breakfast???

Like that's the first genuinely confusing thing to come up in this conversation

Are we counting things like danishes, doughnuts, and other pastries or baked goods as sweets?

I was reading a series on a lark (link) and it's okay. Chapter 12 was weird outlier compared to the other chapters.

I remember this artist; my library had a mountain climbing series done by him and his style is very distinctive. He's a fan of men with strong jawlines.

It's a cooking manga I know is highly regarded but I can't get the appeal myself. The kid is just too good to the point where his ability to know the perfect flavor/texture/preparation is pure magic. Makes for very uninteresting encounters because I can't even pretend there's any challenge that will last more than 1 page. The chinese food porn is appreciated at the very least.

I mean I don't think SnS is a good series either. And having popped my head back in to the recent chapters, the dark chef's are even more ridiculous than the last time the concept was introduced. A Juggalo chef was not the direction I thought the series would go with.

We still haven't really seen people competently prepare some xeno-food. I'd like for maybe a moment of some cross cultural culinary dishes that aren't just throwing space lice in a pot.

So the superb fantasy manga 'Witch Hat Atelier' has a spinoff manga where we use magic to prepare food. It's a neat aside from the main story.

I loved that Gordon pulled a Steven Segal and started owning those military mooks despite being "the cook". Also 2nd chapter has some crazy implications for this setting if ocean life lives under the sand. That means I can fully expect land sharks down the line.

After the sheer amount of doujins that came out of Kodoku no Gourmet featuring characters like Guts, Solid Snake, and I think even Kenshiro. Superman eating foot around the world isn't really that surprising. What I'm really more interested in is Spiderman's personal rating of every hotdog vendor around New York.

Picked up a series recently called By the Furnace of Miss Alice. Dude living out in the country has his childhood friend/older friend move back in town into her grandmother's house after a funeral and it's a mix between slice-of-life dealing with the house, a budding romance, and cooking food over an open fire.
