if youre gonna use an external dac, the board model doesnt matter for sound quality as long as you have enough USB ports. youre bypassing the built in sound hardware and DAC completely and streaming a digital signal from the OS over USB to the external DAC, so as long as the USB port works, youll be gravy on that front.
