Oh hey, there's a cookie thread!

I had a huge chocolate craving last night when I was shopping, so I ended up making these cookies.

They're chocolate with broken pieces of caramel M&Ms mixed in. They're pretty rich.

I usually drop a chunk of dough on my scale then ball and flatten sightly, but I like thick-rear end dough that's refrigerated overnight

A christmas cookie plate I threw together, with my chocolate cookies dipped in white mint chocolate w/candy cane bits, chocolate cookies with caramel m&ms, peppermint bark, and some covered pecans.

I make dough the night before, and then the next day I'm like oh hey I have dough!

Something about breaking it apart like that makes it more fun. Hope that helps!

Cookie dough also benefits greatly from a resting period in the cold.
If you want to get really lazy you can freeze the individual balls of dough and then always have ready to bake cookies available.

I did that this holiday season, since I had like three parties each a week apart, and didn't want to make three batches of dough.

Turns out you can talk yourself into eating cookies quite often if all you have to do is preheat the oven.

Chocolate cookies based on this recipe: https://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/chewy-chocolate-cookies-5049 minus peanut butter morsels, plus a quarter tsp of cayenne pepper for a slow burn on the end.

I have tasted reeses peanut butter cups for the first time in my life a few months ago. They were delicious. Peanut butter was really late in coming to Finland, I don't remember ever seeing it until the mid or late 2000s in stores. I remember really wanting to know what a PBJ tasted like in my teens (90s/early 00)...

So tonight I am going shopping to try and make these:

I love peanut butter cups too. A childhood favorite cookie is this kind:

I could eat seven or eight of those right now.

Red Velvet cookie recipes plz

I first tried these ones because it instantly popped up when I searched "chewy red velvet cookies" for a Christmas present I was making a couple years back.

Very chewy, delicious red velvet sandwich cookies, and I believe the truest presentation of the necessary cream cheese frosting component of red velvet.

I've been curious to whip up some ermine icing for these instead of cream cheese, actually.

Those chocolate chip cookies look amazing-recipe?

I followed this recipe except I did an overnight chill on the dough since I also had chocolate cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes and cream cheese frosting to prep that night.

It's the one time a year I make gingerbread! That's not regularly enough to get good at it, but also frequently enough to not suck rear end at it anymore. Right down the middle, maybe towards the shittier end.
