Blizzard still knows how to make fun games, which of course is important. However they've lost that knack for story telling and narrative polish. SC2 and Diablo 3 come to mind.

Makes me think of planetside, where winning and losing doesn't seem to really ever matter. Can say the same for most games, but most games let you feel like you reached some kind of end, but the unending feel of it all makes it seem insignificant.
