A little disrespect and rudeness can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day

100% agree. It just kept going and going when it really didn't need to.

Also I thought it was awful and only funny in the darkest, subtlest, and most awkward of ways.
