I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every of you for your hard work and dedication to making this month's edition of the AI Chat Thread a resounding success. On the other hand, I found the lack of participation in the AI Monthly Book Club very disappointing. Perhaps as a new initiative, there are of course a few kinks to be worked out, but I would like to see more effort in the future. Overall, going forward, I think we can be pleased of our performances so go ahead and give yourselves a pat on the back. This is no time to rest on our laurels, however so please carry this momentum for a great start to next month. Keep up the good work! Also, could the OP of next months thread please post a link in this thread, thank you. -corn in the fridge

As the thread is almost over and the topic will unlikely continue to next month, I want to share a story that hopefully will not carry itself to the next thread as it's quite depressing. One of my wife's horses was hit by a reckless driver going 30+ over on Sunday night. 3 of the mare's legs were nearly severed and were severely broken along with many internal injuries and broken ribs. I had to put her down with my shotgun while two state police troopers held her down because we couldn't get a vet there at that time and day. I've been having nightmares and flashbacks since. My wife's voice as she screamed for me to get the gun will resonate for me for my entire life. Drive as fast as you want, but have a little respect for farming communities, please. These animals are our family members. In some cases they're our life. They can be unpredictable and do stupid poo poo, but in the US, farming areas and people with livestock often have much in the way of signage around their property. Just be more aware. Thanks.

I sold our old house, that's kind of good news. Now to decide what to do with the money from the sale. Put it in the market? Nope. Buy a car? NO. Buy a plane? Maybe. Buy 4 or 5 section 8 rental properties and become a slumlord? Very likely.

ACEofsnett and I came up with that method and, well, it works if it's been off VERY recently, in the northeast. It's worked ~75% of the time so far, my April EJ25 pull out of my car was loving miserable because it was seized the gently caress on there after only 2 years. I usually pull the engine (on Subarus, if it's any of my jeeps it's a monster cast iron engine and I don't want anything to do with pulling those when I can drop a 120lb transmission instead) since I have no lift and even worse, a dirt work area. If I had a lift I'd definitely pull the transmission.

Just a better college football team. Not so worried about repairs. I've done quite a bit of research on Sec 8, and one of my closest friends has like 10 sec 8 properties. It's not that tough to deal with and 90 percent of the repairs or work I can do myself.

I could swing Saturday and Sunday because I'm basically the only one in that whole area on a weekend shift but Monday and Friday would be... challenging. The area is very rural with a shitload of signage to slow down signage that there's horses and other animals and It wasn't all that dark. Granted yes, she did get out of her paddock, however, animals crossing that road is not abnormal and is nearly an every day thing. Hence the signage and many warnings to slow the hell down. Unfortunately the driver did not heed them and was not paying attention as its a straightaway with nearly a mile of visibility.
